I am Sophia Vagrant aka @Vagrant.tattoo.I am a 31 years old tattoo artist who grew up in France and now work in Edinburgh, Scotland. I started tattooing at 26 years old, quiet late i would say. Even tho i tried to get an apprenticeship when i was 18 but my tattoo artist back in the day told me, that i needed to go to art school first. My family didn’t have money and could not afford it. So i gave up the idea of being a tattoer for a long time. Which allowed me to experience life , backpack, bikepack and travel in 20 countries. Gain perspective and confidence. I came into terms that, the definition of art is subjective. Everyone has different liking and even tho i didn’t come from an art school background, drawing is my passion and if some don’t define my style as “pretty”.. it’s the least of my concerns. 

My core value is to create unique designs, who reflect the way i feel at the time. Obviously as a scene kid, i love my characters to be edgy, melancholic, sad, scary and even funny sometimes.  When people ask me “what style do you do”, it’s a bit hard to answer that.I take inspiration from the styles i love the most; american traditional, japanese and illustrations. My touch is my flow. It has to have an organic feel to it. Whilst being dark and spooky but still have something in it that makes you want to cuddle up with my creatures.Outside of tattooing, i am the mother of 2 baby boys who takes most of my time, but bring me loads of inspiration! I make sure to nourish their creative mind and give them the love of adventures and nature
